Privacy policy
Last updated:
We collect as little personal data as we reasonably need to run TechKis. This page explains what we collect, why, the legal basis we rely on, your rights under the GDPR and how to contact us about any of it.
Who we are (data controller)
TechKis ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller responsible for any personal information collected through this website. For any privacy-related question or request you can reach us at techkis.tech@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us — when you submit our contact form, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, email address, company (if provided) and whatever you write in your message. Information collected automatically — when you visit the site we collect basic, aggregated usage information such as the pages you visit, the approximate region you visit from and the device or browser you use, so we can understand how the site is used. Your browser may also store a small preference so we remember whether you prefer light or dark mode.
Why we use your information and our legal basis
We process your information for the following purposes and rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: (a) to respond to your enquiry and deliver the project we agree on together — legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performance of that contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); (b) to understand how the site is used in aggregate and improve it — legal basis: our legitimate interests in running and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against your privacy; (c) to remember your theme preference — legal basis: necessary to provide a feature you have requested; (d) to comply with our legal obligations where they apply — legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.
Who we share data with
We rely on a small number of reputable third-party providers acting as our processors for website hosting, web fonts, web analytics and email delivery. Each provider is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions and to industry-standard security and confidentiality terms. We do not share your data with anyone for advertising or marketing purposes.
Where your data is processed
Some of our providers may process data outside the country you live in, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we make sure an appropriate safeguard recognised by the GDPR is in place — such as an adequacy decision by the European Commission, or Standard Contractual Clauses — so that your data is protected to a standard equivalent to EU law.
Cookies & analytics
We use standard, privacy-respecting web analytics to understand site usage in aggregate. These analytics do not identify you personally and we do not use them to track you across other websites. Where the law in your region requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time. Your browser may store a small preference for your theme choice — clearing your site data removes it.
Data retention
We don't store your enquiries in a database or CRM — they simply arrive as email in our inbox, the same way any other message would. You can ask us to delete that email at any time and we will. Project-related data, once we are working together, is governed by the contract we sign. Aggregated analytics information is retained only for as long as needed to understand site usage trends.
Your rights under the GDPR
Under the GDPR you have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) ask us to correct inaccurate data; (c) ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"); (d) ask us to restrict or stop certain processing; (e) object to processing based on our legitimate interests; (f) receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format; (g) withdraw any consent you have given us, at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (in the EU, you can find yours via edpb.europa.eu; in the UK, ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, email techkis.tech@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days as required by law.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, so we keep what we collect to the minimum needed.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will also be flagged on the homepage so returning visitors notice them.
